LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Boston University track & field teams took home gold in two events on the first day of the Patriot League Championships. In addition to the two gold medals, BU swept the long jump and picked up a silver and a bronze in the 4x800m relays. It also ran 14 final-qualifying times.

At the close of the first day, the women's team is second in the standings with 50.33 points while the men's team boasts 22 points in third place.

Top Dogs
- Sophomore Ellie Roan threw for 59.10m (193' 11") to win the hammer and set the second-best mark at BU.
- Sophomore Jada Smith made her collegiate long jump debut, jumping 5.90m (19' 4.25") to earn the event title.

Podium Appearances
- BU's sweep in the long jump was complete when Asia Hamilton (5.83m (19' 1.5")) and Jamie Chamberlain (5.74m (18' 10")) took second and third, respectively.
- The men's 4x800m relay of sophomores Moritz Ebbeskotte, Parker Schneider, freshman Shamiso Sikaneta and graduate student Foster Malleck placed second with a time of 7:28.46, just 0.11 off the school record in the event.
- The women's 4x800m relay team of freshman Adrienne Buettner-Cable, sophomores Samantha Seabury, Lily Borin and Vera Sjöberg finished in 8:49.68 to place third and set the second-best time in BU history.
