The 47th varsity season of BU field hockey will kick off on Friday, Aug. 30, when the Terriers visit Providence. BU will visit crosstown rival Boston College two days later.

The non-conference home schedule will also include contests against regional rivals Massachusetts (Sept. 13), Maine (Sept. 15), Northeastern (Oct. 13) and New Hampshire (Oct. 20). The regular-season finale will take place on Nov. 3 when BU hosts Cornell for the first time ever.

The Terriers kick off Patriot League play at Bucknell on Sept. 20. The Terriers' league home opener will take place one week later against Lehigh. BU will also host Holy Cross (Oct. 4) and Colgate (Oct. 18) in league play while making trips to American (Oct. 11) and Lafayette (Oct. 25).

BU will hit the road two times against Ivy League opponents as it visits Brown on Sept. 8 and Harvard on Oct. 6. The Terriers have not faced the Bears since 2007.

The Terriers will host preseason scrimmages against Vermont (Aug. 20) and Stonehill (Aug. 24) after opening the preseason with a scrimmage at Boston College on Aug. 16.

The four-team Patriot League Championship is scheduled for Nov. 7 & 9 and will take place at the top seed.
