Zhao Tabbed Patriot League Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Emily Zhao of the Boston University women's tennis team was named the Patriot League player of the week, the league announced Tuesday.
Zhao went a combined 4-0 over the weekend, winning both her singles matches at line five and her doubles matches at line three. She notably clinched the 4-3 victory over Boston College with a 6-2, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (6) win to help BU defeat the Eagles for the first time since 2013. She was also first to win her doubles match alongside senior Nina Gulbransen with a 6-1 victory at the bottom of the lineup, setting the foundation for the doubles point.
Against Syracuse, Zhao was one of two Terriers to win their singles match. Her 6-3, 6-1 win in singles gave BU its first point of the day to cut into the Orange's lead, 2-1. Zhao and Gulbransen were also the only Terriers to win their doubles match against Syracuse with a 6-3 win.
The Terriers will play their next match on Friday, Feb. 21, against Stony Brook. First serve at Winchester Tennis Club is set for 4 p.m.
