Top-Seeded Women’s Tennis Prepped for Patriot League Championship

BOSTON – Looking for its eighth Patriot League title and trip to the NCAA tournament in 13 years, the top-seeded Boston University women's tennis team opens the Patriot League Championship with a Friday morning quarterfinal match. First serve in Lewisburg, Pa., is set for 9 a.m.
BU heads into the postseason with an 8-9 record overall and a 6-0 mark in Patriot League play. The Terriers hope to secure the Patriot League title in back-to-back years for the first time since 2017 when they won four consecutive titles (2014-17). This would be BU's 29th conference title in program history.
The two other teams on BU's side of the bracket, No. 4 Lehigh and No. 5 Loyola Maryland, will play on Friday at 10:45 a.m. The other side of the bracket features No. 2 Navy against No. 7 Colgate at 3:45 p.m. and No. 3 Army West Point against No. 6 Bucknell at 1:15 p.m.

- Sophomore Gabriella Mikaul, a three-time Patriot League player of the week this season, owns six singles wins in dual matches and five in doubles play.
- Junior Nancy Liu has teamed with Mikaul in all five doubles wins and owns eight wins in singles, six of which have come in the No. 2 spot.
- Junior Ellie Gyuro owns four singles wins this season with three coming in the No. 3 spot
- Junior Blanka DeMicheli is 3-0 in league play in doubles and 2-0 in singles.
- Sophomore Madison Liu has six singles wins this spring with a 2-0 record in league play.
- Of senior Emily Zhao's five dual match singles wins, three have occurred at line five.
- Senior Rhea Rai is 1-1 in singles and 5-7 in doubles this spring.
- Freshman Lauren Kettlewell boasts a 3-1 singles record in dual matches.
- Freshman Vasilisa Borisova owns two singles wins, both of which came at line four.
