BOSTON – The No. 14 Boston University women's ice hockey team (19-8-1, 16-4-1 HE) is prepped to host UConn (17-9-2, 15-4-2 HE) and Providence (16-9-3, 12-7-2 HE) this weekend. Puck drop against the Huskies on Friday (Feb. 7) is set for 6 p.m. while the game against the Firars on Saturday (Feb. 8) is scheduled for 4 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS

The Terriers defeated No. 13/12 Northeastern on Tuesday in overtime, 3-2.
Freshman Kaileigh Quigg and junior Clara Yuhn scored in regulation while sophomore Alex Law scored the game winner in overtime.
Junior Sydney Healey led in points with three assists while graduate students Lindsay Bochna and Julia Shaunessy and senior Maggie Hanzel all recorded one assist.
Senior Callie Shanahan made 33 saves in the win.
The win marked the first time since Jan. 18, 2015, that BU defeated the Huskies at Matthews Arena.
BU is No. 14 in the USCHO and USA Hockey polls this week.
The Terriers are first in the Hockey East standings and were the first to reach 50 points this season.
BU leads the league and is 10th in the NCAA in power play goals with 18. Its powerplay percentage of 0.205 is second in the league.
The Terriers lead Hockey East and are second in the NCAA in penalty killing percentage (0.918).
Since the start of the second half, BU has not given up a power-play goal.
BU has won the second-most faceoffs in Hockey East with 740. Its faceoff percentage of 0.547 is second in the league.
Four Terriers have surpassed their season points total from 2023-24.
Shaunessy and S. Healey lead the Terriers in points with 17.
Shaunessy's assists per game value of 0.54 is second in Hockey East.
Shanahan has 443 saves this season with a save percentage of .925. Her GAA of 1.74 is fourth in Hockey East and 12th in the NCAA.
Sophomore Mari Pietersen owns 137 saves with a save percentage of .907.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES

UConn is 17-9-2 overall with a 15-4-2 in Hockey East play.
The Huskies are 9-3-1 on the road.
UConn most recently lost to then-No. 14 Northeastern in overtime, 4-3.
UConn lost 1:05 into the overtime period when Northeastern scored on the power play.
The Huskies' most recent win came against Merrimack on Jan. 31, 3-1.
Prior to the loss, UConn was on a 10-game unbeaten streak.
UConn leads Hockey East in faceoff wins with 778.
It also has the best scoring defense in the league with a value of 1.68.
UConn is receiving votes in the USCHO poll.

SERIES HISTORY VS. UCONN

The Terriers are 31-18-9 overall against UConn with a 16-8-5 record at home.
In the 2023-24 season, UConn swept the series 3-0-0 with two of the wins coming in a shutout.
The last time BU defeated UConn at home in regulation was on Nov. 19, 2022, in a 5-2 decision.
