Lightweight Rowing Set for Weekend Racing at Stanford, in Boston

BOSTON – In its final dual race of the 2025 spring season, the Boston University lightweight rowing program heads to Stanford on Sunday, April 27 at Redwood Shores. The day prior, the Terriers will also have a 4+ crew compete against MIT and Gordon at 10 a.m. on the Charles River.

- 12:00 p.m. ET – 2x
- 12:10 p.m. ET – Varsity 4+
- 12:20 p.m. ET – Varsity 8+
- BU regained the Beanpot with a win in the Varsity 8+ against Harvard-Radcliffe and MIT last Saturday, April 19 on the Charles River.
- The Terrier also picked up a victory in the Double and finished second to Radcliffe in the Varsity 4+.
- The CRCA Lightweight Coaches Poll remained the same across all three boatings for Week 6 compared to the previous edition.
- The Terrier V8 and V4 are four spots ahead of Stanford's, while the top-ranked 2x is seven spots in front.
- Hosting its first spring race back on April 19, the Cardinal notched a nearly 18-second victory in the Varsity 8+ over Wisconsin at Redwood Shores, finishing in 6:47.94.
- The Badgers prevailed in the 4+ by nearly 10 seconds, while the 2x crossed the finish line 19 seconds ahead of Stanford.
- The week prior, Stanford dropped three races to Princeton in New Jersey, with the Tigers' posting a 14-second margin of victory in the 8+.
- BU will face Stanford in a dual race for the third season in a row, and second straight time at Redwood Shores.
- Last year, after the Eastern Sprints, the Terriers were victorious in the 2x and 4+ while the Cardinal had the edge in the 8+.
- Stanford finished second to BU's bronze at last year's IRA National Championship Regatta thanks to the Lightweight 4+ national title and a runner-up performance in the Lightweight 8+.
- BU will return to the east coast to compete in the Eastern Sprints on Sunday, May 4 as it defends its Konrad Ulbrich Team Trophy title from last season.
