SPARKS, Md. - Freshman
Timothy Shannehan of the Boston University men's lacrosse team has been invited to a training camp ahead of the 2025 World Lacrosse Men's U20 Championship, USA Lacrosse announced on Monday.
Shannehan is one of 32 players that will attend the training camp, which will be held at Towson from June 9-11. Following this camp, the coaching staff will announce the final 22-man roster for the world championship along with selected alternates. The world championship will be held in Seoguipo, South Korea on Jeju Island from August 15-24, 2025.
The Patriot League Rookie of the Year and a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American, Shannehan was excellent for the Terriers in his debut season. He led all NCAA rookies with 61 points on 32 goals and 29 assists en route to earning First Team All-Patriot League and Second Team All-New England accolades. He matched All-Americans Chris Gray and
Vince D'Alto as the fastest Terriers to reach 50 points, doing so in 12 games. Shannehan recorded at least two points in 14 of his 16 starts, including a career-high five goals on Feb. 22 against Air Force. He set career bests in assists (5) and points (9) against Bucknell on March 8 and ended the season with seven goals and four assists across final three games.
