Terrier Varsity 8+ Claims Patriot League Boat of the Week Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Boston University women's rowing Varsity 8+ was selected as the Patriot League boat of the week, the league announced Tuesday.
The boat, coxed by senior Audrey Lucerne and stroked by freshman Sotiria Angou, took first in the petite final at the Eastern Sprints with a time of 7:01.958. It was the fourth-fastest time overall in Varsity 8+ competition. BU finished ahead of crosstown rival Northeastern, Cornell, Patriot League foe George Washington, URI and Boston College, respectively.
BU qualified for the petite finalagye5r placing third in the second heat. The Terriers finished behind No. 8 Brown and No. 19 Columbia and ahead of Boston College, Drexel, Patriot League opponent Colgate and UConn.
Lucerne, Angou, sophomores Ingrid Eshuis, Lydia Pelton, freshman Gigi Williams, graduate student Kat Robbins, sophomore Olivia Bencze and freshmen Raylynn Boston and Sarah Stacey made up the lineup for the crew.
BU will be back in action on May 16 on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J., for the Patriot League championship.
