BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After delivering a three-point performance at Charleston, Boston University men's soccer sophomore
Pharis Petrica earned Patriot League Midfielder of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Petrica earned the Terriers' first weekly award of the season by helping BU total at least five goals against the Cougars for the first time since an identical 5-1 victory vs. Harvard in 2008. A native of Buerstadt, Germany, he first notched an assist in the 61st minute and shortly thereafter netted his first career collegiate goal.
Owning a 2-1 lead, Petrica set up the third goal by curling a free kick into the box for junior
Lapo Romieri to head in past the keeper at 60:34. During the 66th minute, he finished off a cross from freshman
Austin Mobray to grab a 4-1 lead.
After starting off the season with a three-game road trip, the Terriers will next open the home schedule against regional rival Brown on Friday (Sept. 5) with a 7 p.m. start time.
