BOSTON – The Boston University women's ice hockey team is prepped to host No. 5 Northeastern and No. 6 UConn this weekend at Walter Brown Arena. Friday's game against Northeastern is set for 6 p.m. while Saturday's puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m. and will air on NESN.

Friday kicks off City of Boston Week at BU, highlighting the university and athletics connection to the city of Boston. Saturday's game will celebrate Black History Month and will feature "Lift Every Voice and Sing" before the national anthem.

TERRIER TIDBITS

Most recently, BU lost to Maine, 2-0, at Walter Brown Arena on Saturday.
It was the second consecutive shutout the Terriers experienced and the third this season.
The Terriers' faceoff win percentage of 0.549 is second in Hockey East and 10th in the NCAA.
BU has recorded 793 team saves.
The Terriers' penalty killing percentage of 0.828 is good for fifth in Hockey East.
Sophomore Kaileigh Quigg and senior Syndey Healey are the lone Terriers to surpass their 2024-25 points total of anyone who registered at least one point last season. Sophomore Keira Healey has tied her rookie season points total at seven.
Junior Mari Pietersen's save percentage (.924) is eighth in Hockey East.
Graduate student Michelle Pasiechnyk's save percentage (.914) ranks 12th in Hockey East.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES FROM BOSTON

Northeastern is 23-6-1 overall with an 18-1-1 mark in Hockey East play.
The Huskies have clinched the Hockey East regular season title.
On the road, the Huskies are 11-4-0.
Most recently, Northeastern defeated Vermont on the road in overtime, 3-2.
The Huskies are on an eight-game unbeaten streak (7-0-1).
Notheastern's most recent tie came against No. 13/14 Holy Cross, in which the Huskies won the shootout, 1-0, after the 2-2 tie.
Northeastern's last loss came against BU in the Beanpot Semifinals when the Terriers won, 2-1, in overtime.
Only two of the Huskies' losses have happened in 2026, with the other coming against No. 14/13 Yale, 3-0.
Northeastern owns four shutouts this season, all of which have been earned by netminder Lisa Jönsson. She is tied for the league lead in shutouts.
Forward Lily Shannon leads Hockey East in goals with 18.

Jönsson is also tied for third in GAA in Hockey East with a value of 1.72.

SERIES HISTORY VS. NORTHEASTERN

BU is 36-38-9 all-time against Northeastern with a 16-17-3 mark at home.
Most recently, BU defeated Northeastern in overtime, 2-1, in the Beanpot semifinals.
Earlier in the season, BU dropped back-to-back contests to Northeastern, losing 3-1 at home and 7-3 at Matthews Arena.
BU and Northeastern have gone to overtime in five in the last 10 meetings, and BU is 3-2-0 in those games.
The Terriers have won back-to-back outings against the Huskies only once in the past decade, doing so last season with wins on Feb. 4, 2025 (3-2 OT) and March 8. 2025 (3-2 OT) in the Hockey East Championship game.

The Huskies are 10-2-1 on the road.

The Huskies last loss came against New Hampshire on Jan. 31, 3-2 in overtime.
UConn is on a two-game winning streak having defeated Providence, 2-1, in overtime on Feb. 6.
Forward Julia Pellerin leads the league in game winning goals with six.
Netminder Tia Chan leads Hockey East in wins (20) and save percentage (.950).
Chan shares the league lead in shutouts with four with Lisa Jönsson.
She also has the second-best GAA in the league at 1.61.

SERIES HISTORY VS. UCONN

BU is 31-22-10 against UConn with a 16-11-5 record at home.
The Terriers last defeated UConn on Nov. 19, 2022, in a 5-2 outcome at home.
Earlier this season, BU won the shootout after a 1-1 tie at UConn on Dec. 5, 2025.
Most recently, UConn defeated BU, 3-2, at Walter Brown on Dec. 6.
