BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Sophomore Iman Roka, senior Ellie Roan and freshman Samantha Lascelles all earned Patriot League weekly awards, the League announced Tuesday afternoon.
Roka was named Track Athlete of the Week with a 60m hurdles time of 8.34 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 14). The mark is second all-time in BU history, trailing only Sharon Colyear Danville's time of 8.21, and ranks first in the Patriot League this season. This is the Vienna, Austria native's second time winning the award.
Roan was named Field Athlete of the Week after launching her weight 21.45m at the Valentine Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 14). The mark bested her own school record and is tied for 18th in the NCAA this season while leading the Patriot League. The Sebastopol, California native has now won three Field Athlete of the Week awards this season and her sixth career honor.
Lascelles picked up Rookie of the Week honors after running a collegiate-best mark of 2:08.20 in the 800m, moving into fourth all-time at BU. She ranks fourth in the Patriot League and first among PL freshmen in the event.
This is the second time this season the Terriers have swept the women's weekly awards. Next up, BU heads to the Brown Invite on Saturday (Feb. 21).
