Terriers Shut Out at Boston College to Cap Regular Season

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston University women's ice hockey team (10-19-3, 8-13-2 HE) was shut out by Boston College (15-17-1, 13-9-1 HE), 4-0, on Saturday evening at Conte Forum.
The Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the first frame before tacking on two goals in the second to go up 3-0. BC added another goal in the third and killed multiple penalties to shut out BU, 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU went to the box for interference at 4:18 in the first and successfully killed the penalty.
- Right as BU returned to full strength, BC was called for too many skaters on the ice.
- The Eagles scored a shorthanded goal with 18 seconds remaining on the BU power play to take a 1-0 lead.
- BC was called for body checking with 8:46 to play in the first frame and successfully fended off the Terrier power play.
- BU went back on the penalty kill due to a hooking call at 18:30 and were successful on the kill.
- In the second period, BC added two goals to its lead at the 10:57 and 12:38 marks to go up 3-0.
- BC went to the box for tripping with 26 seconds to go in the middle frame and killed off the penalty early in the third.
- BU earned a power play chance with 15:06 to play due to a BC cross checking call but the score remained unchanged.
- The Eagles scored again at the 9:58 mark to take a 4-0 lead.
- BC served a slashing penalty with 8:29 to play in the third and was once again successful on the kill.
- With 49 seconds to go, BC went to the box for body checking and held on through the Terrier power play to secure the 4-0 shutout.
GAME NOTES
- Shots were even with BU and BC each taking 24.
- BU was 0-for-6 on the power play while BC was 0-for-2.
- The Terriers won 30 faceoffs while BC won 19.
- BU blocked four shots and BC blocked 11.
- Graduate student Michelle Pasiechnyk made 20 saves in the loss.
