HOCKEY EAST TOURNAMENT NOTES
- BU is 28-16 in Hockey East tournament games with an 0-2 mark in the opening round.
- The last time the Terriers played in the opening round was in 2024 when they were the No. 7 seed and hosted tenth-seeded Holy Cross. BU fell to the Crusaders, 4-2, in that game.
- Its other opening round appearance came in 2023 when it hosted tenth-seeded Merrimack and lost in overtime, 5-4.
- BU is 16-10 in Hockey East tournament games held at Walter Brown Arena.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU split its final weekend of the regular season, defeating Providence in a 3-1 decision and falling to Boston College in a 4-0 shut out.
- Freshman Lexie Bertelsen and seniors Maeve Kelly and Luisa Welcke all scored in the win against the Friars. Kelly's was her first of the season and Lu. Welcke's came on an empty net.
- Kelly and Lu. Welcke each had two points with a goal and an assist.
- Friday was Lu. Welcke and Lilli Welcke's first game back from the Olympics, with both twins ending up on the scoresheet. Li. Welcke assisted on the lamplighter for BU.
- Graduate student Michelle Pasiechnyk made 41 saves against Providence and 20 against Boston College.
- The Terriers' faceoff win percentage of 0.546 is second in Hockey East and 10th in the NCAA.
- BU has recorded a season high six assists twice this season, both of which have come against Providence.
- The Terriers' penalty killing percentage of 0.844 is good for fourth in Hockey East and is 13th in the NCAA.
- Sophomore Kaileigh Quigg and senior Sydney Healey are the lone Terriers to surpass their 2024-25 points total of anyone who registered at least one point last season. Sophomore Keira Healey, Henderson, junior Neely Nicholson and senior Clara Yuhn have tied their season points total from last year.
- Seniors Maeve Carey, S. Healey and Kelly all have three points earned in games against the Friars this season with 14 total Terriers recording at least one point in the three games this season.
- Li. Welcke and Lu. Welcke each have eight career points against Providence while S. Healey and Yuhn each have six.
SCOUTING THE FRIARS
- Providence is 11-21-2 this season with an 8-14-2 mark in league play.
- On the road, the Friars are 6-13-0.
- In the Hockey East tournament, Providence is 22-25.
- The Friars have played in the opening round once, defeating Holy Cross, 3-1, as the seventh seed.
- Providence last won the Hockey East title in 2005 and have made five appearances in the title game since then.
