Cowan Earns Fourth Patriot League Weekly Award This Season
February 24, 2026 | Men's Track & Field
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Sophomore Thomas Cowan of the Boston University men's track & field team was named Patriot League Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Cowan ran a 1:46.84 time in the 800m at the Saucony Battle for Boston on Sunday night, finishing sixth overall and first among collegians. He was just .01 seconds off his personal best and his own BU school record, and the time is faster than any other Patriot League athlete so far this season.
This is Cowan's fourth Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, making him one of just two Patriot League athletes to ever accomplish that feat and the first to do so since the 2002-03 season.
He and the Terriers will next compete at the 2026 Patriot League Indoor Championships on Saturday (Feb. 28) and Sunday (March 1) at the Track & Tennis Center.
