BOSTON – Wrapping up the regular season, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit American on Saturday with the CBS Sports Network broadcast slated for a 12 p.m. tip.

Both teams are currently tied-for-fourth in the PL standings at 9-8. The winner will next host the PL quarterfinal against the other squad on Thursday evening.

TERRIER TIDBITS

After setting a program record for made 3-pointers in a season, junior Michael McNair is now just two away from becoming the fourth in PL history to reach 100. He currently leads BU at 16.9 ppg alongside 1.1 spg.
Owner of six double-doubles, sophomore Ben Defty (14.8 ppg) is averaging a team-high 6.8 rpg alongside 1.7 bpg, while freshman Chance Gladden (13.8 ppg) directs the offense with 4.8 apg.
Gladden's 139 total assists rank 63rd nationally and No. 10 amongst NCAA Division I rookies, and freshman Sam Hughes' (9.6 ppg) 65 3-pointers rank tied-for-eighth.
BU is 4-11 on the road with a 3-5 mark in conference play that includes a 2OT loss at Bucknell and OT defeat at Colgate. The Terriers posted wins at Army (85-68), Holy Cross (72t8j0t and Lafayette
The Terriers rank 26th nationally shooting 49.2 percent from the field and fifth at 39.5 percent in 3-point territory to average 76.3 ppg while holding opponents to 74.3 ppg, 46.2 FG% and 37.3 3FG%.

SCOUTING AMERICAN

AU is 11-5 at home compared to its 5-9 road record with notable non-conference wins against Penn (84-78), Maine (74-61) and Drexel (75-73).
Three Eagles are averaging double figures in points with 6-foot-5 freshman guard Madden Collins owning a team-high 13.4 ppg and 1.2 spg.
Both 6-foot-6 junior forward Greg Jones (12.5 ppg) and 6-foot-6 sophomore forward Julian Iturbe (10.2 ppg) are also in double figures with all three men averaging between 4.7-5.1 rpg.
AU is averaging 75.0 and 45.0 FG% while holding opponents to 71.3 ppg and 45.9 FG%.

LOOKING AHEAD

BU will open the PL tournament against American with Saturday's winner serving as host of the No. 4-5 seeded matchup.
BU is 0-2 all-time in the postseason vs. AU with homes losses in 2014 and 2016.
The Terriers are 0-2 all-time as the No. 5 seed in the PL with losses at Lafayette (2015) and Army (2023).
They are also 0-1 at No. 4 following last year's 86-78 loss to No. 5 Navy.
