Terriers Drop 2-0 Result to Maine

BOSTON – The Boston University women's ice hockey team (9-17-3, 7-11-2 HE) was shut out by Maine (11-17-3, 7-11-3 HE) in a 2-0 decision at Walter Brown Arena on Saturday evening.
After a scoreless first period, Maine took a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal in the second. The Terriers continued to apply pressure throughout the game and pulled its netminder from the posts at 16:37 in the third. Maine capitalized with an empty net goal and continued to hold off the Terriers, who ultimately fell 2-0.

- BU looked like it had gotten on the board with just under a minute to play, but Maine successfully challenged for offsides and the goal was called back.
- Maine went to the box for slashing at 4:36 in the second frame.
- BU then sent a player to the box for high sticking, resulting in 47 seconds of 4-on-4 play.
- With 33 seconds left on Maine's power play, it found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Black Bears were called for slashing at 1:03 in the third and successfully killed off the penalty.
- Moments after the power play expired, BU went to the box for interference with 16:48 to go in the third and successfully killed the penalty.
- At 16:37, BU pulled Michelle Pasiechnyk from the posts for an extra skater.
- Maine scored on the empty net to take a 2-0 lead at the 17:31 mark.
- BU pulled its netminder again at 17:47, but Maine held on for the 2-0 win.
