Lightweight Rowing Braces for Beanpot on Saturday

BOSTON – Seeking its eighth Beanpot title in it last nine seasons, the Boston University lightweight rowing program gears up for the 2026 edition against Harvard-Radcliffe and MIT on Saturday (April 18).

BU will send out five crews against Radcliffe and MIT while also competing against lightweight crews from Gordon and Sacred Heart. The first race is set for 8 a.m.

- 8:00 a.m. – Lightweight Double "A" vs. Harvard-Radcliffe, MIT, Sacred Heart, Gordon
- 8:30 a.m. – Lightweight Double "B" vs. MIT, Gordon
- 8:50 a.m. – Lightweight 4 "A" vs. Harvard-Radcliffe, MIT, Sacred Heart, Gordon
- 9:10 a.m. – Lightweight 4 "B" vs. Harvard-Radcliffe, MIT
- 9:30 a.m. – Lightweight 8 vs. Harvard-Radcliffe, MIT, Sacred Heart
- The Terriers spent last weekend at the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J.
- BU received four medals, including wins in the Second Varsity 8+ and its top 2x crew in the Women's Double final.
- The Lightweight 8+ earned a silver medal while the Lightweight 4+ placed third.
- Saturday marks the Terriers' final scheduled race on the Charles River this spring.
- As such, it marks the last home dual for seniors Caroline Burchette, Catherine Clark, Ela Ersan, Elizabeth Falo-Yohn, Nora Hemsley, Kylie Lough, Zoe Meurer and Carly Milosevic.
- Following last weekend's action, BU's Lightweight 8 moved to fourth in the Pocock CRCA Poll, released on Tuesday (April 14).
- The Lightweight 4 is also in fourth while the Lightweight Double remains in the top spot, two points in front of Wisconsin.
- Radcliffe's Lightweight 8 owns the top spot in the Pocock CRCA poll entering the weekend.
- At the Knecht Cup, Radcliffe was victorious in the Lightweight 8+ and Varsity 8+ finals, finishing just in front of the Terriers in the former as well as the Lightweight 4+ event.
- In a dual race against Princeton to open the year, Radcliffe won three of the four races, including the Varsity 8 and Double.
- The Engineers earned three bronze medals at the Knecht Cup in the Second Varsity 8+, Women's Double and Women's Single.
- MIT ignited its spring with two first-place efforts in the Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+ against Bates and Simmons on the Charles River on April 4.
- BU races on both coasts next Saturday (April 25) with a dual race against Stanford set in Redwood City, Calif. and a matchup against Rhode Island and Delaware on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
