BOSTON – The Boston University women's ice hockey team hosts LIU for an exhibition on Saturday at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is set for 4 p.m.
Saturday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between BU and LIU. BU last played an exhibition game at the start of the 2025-26 season, facing Concordia at home. The Terriers played to a 4-4 tie and won the shootout with junior Lola Reid and sophomore Lexie Bertelsen being the two returners who found the back of the net in the game. Four returners logged assists with junior Keira Healey leading with two and senior Neely Nicholson and sophomores Anežka Čabelová and Mia Vergilii each logging one. Sophomore Jackie Wright played for 25:00 in the game, logging 18 assists.
The Terriers boast 10 newcomers in eight freshmen and two transfers to complete its 24-player roster. Head coach Tara Watchorn is in her fourth season at the helm. Assistant coach Megan Myers also embarks on her fourth season, while assistant coach Megan Quinn enters her second and assistant coach Ian Milosz enters his first.
All but one home game for BU will be played at Walter Brown Arena this season. BU will host Colgate on Oct. 17 at Agganis Arena for its annual game at that rink.
BU will officially begin its season on Thursday, Oct. 1, when it heads to No. 1 Wisconsin for a pair of games. Puck drop on Oct. 1 is set for 8 p.m. ET.
