Biography

Ross Lohr begins his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Boston University men[apos]s tennis team in 2007-08.

Lohr graduated from BU[apos]s College of Arts and Sciences with bachelor[apos]s degrees in psychology and economics in May of 2007 after a four-year career with the Terriers. A two-year captain, he played primarily in the fifth and sixth singles spots, as well as a 31-25 doubles mark playing in all three spots. At the end of his senior year, Lohr received BU[apos]s Scarlet Key, the America East Sportsmanship award and the Student-Athlete Service award from the athletic department, an honor that recognizes a senior who has demonstrated a commitment to serving Boston University, the athletic department and the larger Boston community. In addition to working with the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and Tenacity in Boston, he founded a global non-profit organization called 'The Newton-Tanzania Collaborative (NTC). The goal of the program is to engage Newton North and South high schools and several Tanzanian secondary schools in cultural exchange activities, raise cultural awareness, and bring global issues to the forefront of the Newton school curriculum. Lohr currently resides in Newton, Mass. and currently works at Waltham Athletic Club teaching tennis.
