Frank Giuliano was a four-year starter on Buff Donelli's teams from 1951-54. Playing either center, guard or linebacker, the 5-foot-11, 202-pound Giuliano greatly contributed to four straight winning seasons.
While most interior linemen go about their business anonymously, Giuliano's outstanding play allowed him to gain notoriety despite playing with the likes of Harry Agganis, Joe Terrasi and Sam Pino, all members of the Hall of Fame.
A native of Everett, Massachusetts, Giuliano was named All-New England his junior and senior years and All-East his senior year. A co-captain with Terrasi on the 1954 squad, Giuliano received the Harry Agganis Memorial Award as the Terriers' MVP that season.
Voted the outstanding lineman his freshman year, Giuliano was regarded by Donelli and line coach Steve Sinko as one of the best interior linemen to ever play at BU.
In 1964, Giuliano's efforts were further recognized when he was named to the Boston Post''s Post-War All-Star team as a third-team selection.
Off the gridiron, Giuliano excelled in the classroom. In 1954 he received the George V. Brown Memorial Award because of both his athletic and scholastic achievements. A two-term class president, Giuliano earned his bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees from the Wheelock College of Education. He also holds a master's degree in mathematics and science from UCLA.
