Softball Rolls Past Colgate, 12-1, to Secure Fourth Straight Patriot League Title

BOSTON - Junior Kylie Doherty hit two home runs, including a grand slam, to pace the Boston University softball team in a dominating 12-1 win over Colgate in five innings to clinch the program's fourth straight Patriot League title on Saturday at BU Softball Field.
Senior Kasey Ricard pitched a complete game for her NCAA-leading 32nd win, allowing just two hits while striking out seven in the run-rule triumph. Ricard and her fellow seniors became the first senior class in program history to hoist the Patriot League trophy all four years.
Senior Brooke Deppiesse and freshman Maddie Coupal each had two RBIs while seven different Terriers crossed the plate in the victory.
BU improves to 46-13 on the season while securing the program's ninth Patriot League title and will be making their 15th NCAA Tournament appearance.
