Softball Adds Kasey Ricard to Coaching Staff

BOSTON – Boston University softball head coach Ashley Waters has announced the addition of Kasey Ricard '26 to her coaching staff ahead of the 2027 season.
"Kasey had an exceptional career and was truly a once-in-a-generation player. She possesses a brilliant mind for the game and a natural ability to teach," Waters said. "Her relentless competitiveness will make her an incredible addition to our staff. Her deep understanding of our program and familiarity will be an immediate asset to our pitching staff."

Ricard, who graduated with her degree in health sciences in May, will continue her BU career as a pitching coach. She earned several accolades including three straight Patriot League Pitcher of the Year awards, while guiding her team to four consecutive conference titles.
The Littleton, Mass., native had a historic career at BU, setting single season records in innings pitched (248.1), wins (33) and pitching appearances (52) while holding career records in innings pitched (850.1), strikeouts (933) and no-hitters (5). Additionally, Ricard is the winningest pitcher in program history, capping off her time in the circle with 107 career victories.
Ricard experienced success on the field and in the classroom during her time as a student-athlete, earning NFCA Scholar-Athlete and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll all four years. She was named the Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year two years in a row and earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors in her sophomore and junior seasons.
In 2026, she earned the Mildred Barnes Award which is given to the top female BU student-athlete, as well as the Scarlet Key, which is an academic honor given for contributions made to campus and the community.
