Women's Swimming Beats Rhode Island, 182-111

The Terrier women's swimming team defeated the University of Rhode Island, 182-111, on Saturday, February 5.
Senior Abigail Clark (Baltimore, MD) led the Terrier charge with first places finishes in each of her four events. Clark won the 100 breast stroke (1:05.51), 200 breast stroke (2:24.94), and swam on the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
Exceptional performances from freshmen Karissa Lopez (Santa Fe, NM) and Ingrid Salazar (Simi Valley, CA) added to the Terrier win. Lopez took first in the 100 fly (1:00.26), 200 fly (2:11.24), and the 200 individual medley (2:14.09). Salazar dominated long distance events with wins in the 500 freestyle (5:16.49), 1000 freestyle (10:44.20), and swam in the 400 freestyle relay (3:40.82).
Senior Cindy Hoffman (Cornwall, NY) took first in both the one and three meter dives. Hoffman has finished first in seven of eight one meter dives this season.
The win brings the Terriers to a 5-3 overall record for the season. Boston University will travel to the University of Delaware to compete in the America East Championships February 18-20.
