Beyer Leads Terriers to 4-0 Win Over Albany

With the victory, the Terriers improvedto 9-5-1 on the season, and remain in second place in conference with a 7-0-1 record. B.U. is now 20-0-1 in regular-season conference action since October 15, 1999.
Beyer opened the scoring with an unassisted goal just eight minutes into the first half, beating Albany goalkeeper Beth Spinelli in the lower left corner. It was fourth goal this season.
Spinelli was forced to make 15 saves as the Terriers outshot the Great Danes, 29-2, in the win. B.U. senior goalkeeper Danielle Demers (Portland, ME) relieved starting goalkeeper Jessica Clinton (Valley Stream, NY) at halftime to combine for the shutout.
Freshman Melissa Shulman (Huntington, NY), who was named the America East Rookie of the Week following a two-goal performance in B.U.'s 2-1 win over Maine on October 14th, scored her fifth goal of the season to put the Terriers up 2-0 at 12:57.
Beyer scored her fifth goal of the season and second of the game at 39:36, and assisted on freshman Lauren Ciccone's (East Greenwich, RI) first collegiate goal three minutes later for the final score of the game.
Beyer, who has appeared in all 37 games while at B.U., now leads the Terriers in scoring with five goals and three assists for 13 points.
The four goals are the highest B.U. single-scoring effort of the season, while the win was their fifth shutout of the year.
