Soules' Goal Leads Women's Soccer Past Towson
October 5, 2001 | Women's Soccer

Senior Nicole Soules (Springfield, VA) scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season early in the first half to lead the Terrier women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over host Towson in America East action on Friday (October 5th).
The win ended a three-game losing streak as B.U. had dropped consecutive decisions to the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, and Boston College.
The Terriers are now 5-4-1 overall, but, more importantly, they remained undefeated in league action as they are now 4-0-1. What's more, B.U. improved to 18-0-1 in its last 19 regular-season conference matches dating back to October 15, 1999.
Soules gave the Terriers the only goal they would need when she scored just 4:09 into the match. She scored off a pass from junior Suzanne Hudak (Harleysville, PA), who crossed the ball to Soules in front of the Tiger goal.
Led by senior defenders Megan Cross (Pembroke) and Amy Coccaro (Harleysville, PA), the Terrier defense shut out Towson for just the second time this season. B.U. outshot Towson by a 15-6 margin as sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Clinton (Valley Stream, NY) made just two saves. En route to posting her third shutout of the season, Clinton improved her season record to 5-4-1.
It was B.U.'s fifth win in a row against Towson.
