February 3, 2026 | Women's Soccer
NEW ENGLAND – Four seniors from the Boston University women's soccer program earned selections to the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England Team for the 2025 season.
Giulianna Gianino was chosen for the first team. Her classmates, Margy Porta, Mackenzie Stickelman and Helene Tyburczy, garnered second team recognition.
The team, which was voted on by NCAA Division I coaches from colleges and universities in New England, is comprised of a First Team, Second Team, and a Third Team. It is chosen following a nomination and voting process. Each team contains four forwards, four center midfielders, four defenders and one goalkeeper. Voting ties expanded some teams.
Gianino received her first team selection after her selection as the Patriot League Midfielder of the Year. The Norwell, Mass. native posted seven goals and set BU's single-season record with 15 assists. She finished her Terrier career with 25 goals, 25 assists and 75 points, all ranking top 10 in program history.
Porta registered four goals and six assists across 19 appearances last season, leading to her second consecutive first-team All-Patriot League honor. She closed her season with 10 points during BU's seven-game winning streak and is tied for 20th in program history with 39 career points.
Stickelman tied for second on the Terriers with 15 points while splitting the team lead with Gianino at seven goals. The Long Island product was named to the All-Patriot League First Team, her second straight All-Patriot League selection, and concluded her career with 11 career tallies across 4,671 minutes.
Tyburczy followed up on her All-ECAC and Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year honors from the fall. She scored her first two collegiate goals and anchored a Terrier defense that posted 10 shutouts, allowing just five goals across 10 home matches. She led BU with 1,690 minutes played.
