BOSTON – Behind goals from senior Kat Slott, junior Jaiden Schultz and freshman Sam Ryan, the Boston University women's soccer program earned a 3-1 victory over San Francisco on Sunday afternoon at Nickerson Field.

BU (2-3) dominated possession in the match and finished with a 22-11 edge in shots, overcoming a brief first-half deficit with the equalizer 62 seconds after the Dons (1-3-1) scored and potting two second-half goals for its first home win in 2026.

Slott, who potted the game-tying goal, registered her second tally of the season. Ryan netted her first collegiate goal while Schultz capped the day with her team-leading third goal this year. Sophomore goalkeeper Jill Humphreys needed to only make two saves in net.

Alicia Osegueda found the back of the net for USF on assists from Sydni Yoshida and Hannah Burns. Grace Wilson made 10 saves in 80:37 of action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

BU created the first chance four minutes into the match when sophomore Georgia Prouty crossed from the left corner to Schultz just outside the penalty box. However, her left-footed boot slowly rolled to Wilson.
Moments later, senior Samantha Aronson corralled a lofted pass for a 1-on-1 opportunity with the Dons' keeper, but she lifted her right-footed shot over the upper-right corner.
In the 24th minute, Aronson blasted another shot from 20 yards out that Wilson leapt to redirect over the crossbar and keep the game scoreless.
The deadlock expired in the 30th minute with Osegueda's left boot beat Humphreys to the top-right corner.
Just 62 seconds later, however, freshman Elle Ceres fed Slott 25 yards away from goal. The senior shifted through two markers and drilled a left-footed strike into the upper-right corner for the 1-1 equalizer.
Aronson nearly had another tally with under seven minutes until halftime, but Wilson denied the Terrier with another diving save.
BU took the lead when sophomore Nina Tzouganatos dished to a bolting Prouty down the left touch line. The sophomore's cross met Ryan first as Wilson waited for the ball, and Ryan finished it with her right foot in the 55th minute.
In the 78th minute, senior Ava Maguire was alone on goal and sought the lower-left corner, but Wilson intercepted the shot at the last moment to preserve San Francisco's one-goal deficit.
Humphreys made her first save of the day in the 82nd minute, crouching to snag Kiana Faucette's 20-yard try.
With five minutes remaining in regulation, junior Juliana Osterman inserted a corner kick that immediately found Schultz's knee and trickled into the lower-left corner, extending the Terriers' advantage to 3-1.
Two minutes later, San Francisco inserted a corner kick that Osegueda attempted to flick towards the left post, but junior Alli Powderly was at the right spot to send the ball away.

STATS

The Terriers also sported a 14-4 advantage in shots on target.
Corner kicks favored BU, 8-5. Six of those were generated in the second half.
Ceres, Prouty, Tzouganatos and Osterman finished with assists.
Prouty led all student-athletes with five shots while Aronson supplied three shots on target.
BU spent 57 percent of its possession in San Francisco's end.
No cards were issued during the match.

NOTES

Slott has already matched her personal bests with two goals this season.
Ryan, who is one of four Terriers to start in all five games and is third on the team with 394 minutes, is now the second Terrier to score her first collegiate goal this season, joining senior Ciara Kennedy.
As of writing, Schultz is tied for second in the Patriot League this season with three goals and seven points.
Prouty and Ceres lead the Terriers with two assists each in 2026.
The Terriers improve to 2-1 all-time against San Francisco.
