Grochowalski Nets 19 Points As Terriers Down Dartmouth, 65-53

After taking a three-point lead into the half, the Terriers opened the second half with a three-pointer by senior forward Billy Collins (Concord, N. H.) and a Grochowalski jumper to take a 33-25 lead with 18:01 left.
Dartmouth (0-3) responded with a 12-3 run over the next three minutes, capped by a Greg Friel three-pointer with 15:02 to go which gave the Big Green its only lead of the game at 37-36. The Dartmouth offense would not score for the next 9:18.
B. U. (2-2) answered immediately with a 16-0 run, sparked by Grochowalski, who scored 10 points during the run. A free throw by senior guard Paul Seymour (Liverpool, N. Y.) with 5:46 remaining gave the Terriers their largest lead of the game at 52-37. Dartmouth finally ended its scoring drought with a basket by Charles Harris with 5:32 left to make the score 52-39 in favor of the Terriers.
B. U. made 8-of-10 free throws in the final minute to seal the victory. Dartmouth managed to make only 28.3 percent of its field goal attempts (15-for-53), while the Terriers shot 43.8 percent (21-for-48).
Grochowalski was joined in double figures by junior guard Matt Turner (West Haven, Conn.), who had 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, and Collins, who finished with 11 points and eight rebounds. Dartmouth was led by Harris' 18-point effort.
The Terriers outrebounded the Big Green by a 39-33 margin.
B. U. stays on the road against Ivy League opponents, when it plays Harvard University on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Game time at Levites Pavilion is 7 p.m.
