Terriers Name Tri-Captains; 2001 Award Winners

The Boston University Women's Soccer team recently announced its tri-captains for the upcoming 2002 season, as well as its award winners from the 2001 season.
At the Boston University Women's Soccer Awards Banquet on Sunday February 17th, both team and individuals honors were presented.
Tri-captains for 2002 were announced at the banquet. Juniors Allison Merkle (Baltimore, MD) and Suzanne Hudak (Harleysville, PA), as well as sophomore Rebecca Beyer (Shawnee, KS), will lead the Terriers next fall. Coach Nancy Feldman said of the captains elect, "These three players represent all that is good about our program. Their work ethic is extraordinary, and they will be terrific leaders."
"We are excited to begin preparations to defend our America East Championship," Feldman added. "With captains named, and recruits signed, we can begin to lay the ground work for the 2002 season."
Individual award recipients that honored at the presentation include; Most Valuable Offensive Player - Senior Nicole Soules; Most Valuable Defensive Player - Senior Megan Cross; Academic Achievement Award - Junior Amanda Lasowecky; Alumni Association Most Improved Player Award - Junior Tiffany Baalman; and the Terrier Award - Senior Megan Cross.
In addition, all players were recognized for their contribution in winning the America East Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament in 2001.
