Women's Swimming And Diving Drops Meet To New Hampshire

DURHAM, NH - The women's swimming and diving team saw its season drop to 1-2 as it lost a 190-102 decision to host University of New Hampshire on Nov. 6.
Senior Lauren Foster, junior Lidija Breznikar, freshman Brooks Wallace and the A and B 400-yard freestyle relay "A" and "B" teams provided the highlights.
Breznikar (Kotpje, Slovenia) finished first in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:12.00, which was seven-tenths ahead of the next competitor. She also placed first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:12.30. Coming in second in that race was freshman Kate Buchta (Nashua, NH) with a time of 2:25.91. Breznikar finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:25.87.
Foster (Lake Quivira, KS) placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.63 and third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.94. Foster was also a part of the 400-yard freestyle "B" relay team that finished first with a time of 3:47.92 along with junior Natalie Boyd (Pittsburg, PA), freshman Kara Olderog (Mesa, AZ) and junior Meagan Breiland (Mesa, AZ).
The 400-yard freestyle "A" team placed second with a time of 3:50.75 and consisted of sophomore Tanaz Irani (Orlando, FL), sophomore Selina Herdman (Melville, NY), senior Emily Moreno (Oakland, NJ) and junior Kila Englebrook (Mechanicsburg, PA).
In the one-meter diving competition, the Terriers took the 2-3-4 slots. Wallace (Duxbury, MA) led the way with 242.90 points, enough for second place, while freshman Megan White (Falmouth, ME) came in third with 229.35 points and senior Kathleen Cunningham (West Islip, NY) placed fourth with 213.65 points.
Wallace took first-place honors in the three-meter diving competition with a score of 254.55. Cunningham placed third with 225.30, while White took fourth with 224.95 points.
