Men's Basketball Quick Notes
· OVERALL RECORD: 23-4; AMERICA EAST RECORD: 17-1
· Terriers have won 23 of their last 24 games after an 0-3 start to the season.
· This season, Terriers have had winnings streaks of 11 games and its current 12-game streak (all-time record is 13 straight games - they'll pass that with a win in the semifinals this weekend).
· Terriers' 23 regular-season wins this year is a program record. They can set two more all-time records with a championship-game win - 26 wins in a season and best winning percentage (26-4 heading into NCAA tournament).
· Open 2004 Choice Hotels International America East Men's Basketball Championship with a game on Saturday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. against either #8 Stony Brook University or #9 UMBC.
· Terriers earn #1 seed for third straight season. It's the fourth time overall the Terriers have been the #1 seed.
· Terriers lost to Vermont, 56-55, in last year's championship game at Case Gym. They fell at St. John's 62-57, in the first round of the NIT.
· Terriers 43-7 in last three regular seasons in America East.
· Three straight 20+ win seasons. Looking to make an unprecedented third straight post-season tournament appearance.
· Senior forward Jason Grochowalski (Shrewsbury, Mass) and junior guard Chaz Carr (Manchester, Conn.) both reached the 1,000-points career scoring mark at B.U. this season. Senior guard Matt Turner (West Haven, Conn.) enters tournament with 985 career points - a testament to the team's experiences and veteran leadership.
· Chaz Carr leads the team in scoring at 13.1 ppg. Junior forward Rashad Bell (Queens, N.Y.) leads the team in rebounding at 6.7 rpg.
· Head coach Dennis Wolff earned his 200th career head coaching victory with an 82-68 home win over Northeastern on Feb. 22.
· Terriers are ninth in the nation in scoring defense, allowing opponents to score just 58.7 ppg.
· Terriers received eight votes in this week's Associated Press College Basketball Poll. They are also ranked 11th in the collegeinsider.com Mid-Major poll this week.
· Terriers are 8-2 in games decided by six points or less. Ten of their first 17 games were decided by six points or less. B.U. has won each of its last 10 games by double figures, by an average of 15 ppg.
