No. 6 Eagles Deny Upset Bid By Terriers, 2-1

Newton, MA - The Terrier men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to sixth-ranked Boston College at the Newton Soccer Complex on Wednesday, Sept. 15.
The Terriers fall to 0-3-0 on the season, while all three losses have been against teams ranked in the Top 10 in the NSCAA/adidas National Poll. Pat Haggerty and Satoshi Mitsuda each scored goals for the Eagles, who kept their perfect 4-0-0 record in check.
In the 21st minute of play, Haggerty took a feed from Charlie Davies and scored to give the Eagles an early 1-0 advantage. Mitsuda netted the Eagles second goal in the 53rd minute, taking another pass from Davies to tally the eventual game-winner.
With less than seven minutes remaining in the game, junior midfielder John Cooper (Greer, SC) fired a shot off a feed from senior forward Erik Evjen (Askim, Norway) to give the Terriers' their lone goal of the game.
B.C. goalkeeper Issey Maholo made four saves to earn his fourth win on the year. Terrier sophomore goalkeeper Chad Comroe (Dallas, TX) was credited with two saves.
The Eagles held a 14-10 advantage in shots while the Terriers had a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Terriers play their first unranked opponent when they host Fairfield for their 2004 home opener at Nickerson Field on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 7:00 p.m.
