Marschall Named To Two National College Teams Of The Week

Terrier junior back Susan Marschall has been named to both the Soccer America College Women's Team of the Week and the Soccer Buzz National Elite Team of the Week for play during the week of August 27th.
In the Terriers' 1-0 shutout of Boston College in their season opener on August 27th, the junior from Baton Rouge, LA stopped an Eagle shot that was at the goal line. The play, which came late in the second half while BC was pressing offensively, preserved the shutout.
Then, two days later, she scored a goal as the Terriers defeated the University of Massachusetts, 2-1, as the Minutewomen had just three shots on goal.
"This is a tremendous honor for Susan," said Terrier head coach Nancy Feldman. "For those of us who see her everyday in practice, this is not a surprise. She is so competitive and has worked extremely hard to get herself to where she is right now which is at the top of her game.
"Because of how hard she has worked, she has really made an impact on our team," continued the coach. "In fact, if we were picking up teams to play a game in practice, she would be one of the first players selected."
With the two wins, the Terriers' who were ranked fifth in the Northeast Region of the Soccer Buzz pre-season poll, jumped up to second behind only the University of Connecticut.
Off to their best start since 1996, the Terriers will put their 2-0 record on the line at 7:00 pm Friday night, September 3rd when they host George Mason University.
