Swimming and Diving Competes at Colgate

The Boston University swimming and diving teams took on the Colgate Raiders, on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Colgate's Lineberry Natatorium. The women claimed victory in five events, while the men took top honors in five events as well.

Liisa Young earned BU's first win with a first place finish in the 1000 freestyle. Young clocked in at 10:51.09. Morgan Sawin came in fourth in the event, finishing at 11:27.16. Christina Ruggiero was victorious in the 500 free with a winning time of 5:12.82.

Lidija Breznikar captured first place in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:23.12 time. Brigette O'Shaugnessy, Ali Chester, Ruggiero and Eve Kinsella won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:35.64.

In the diving events, Megan White and Alex Crerar placed first and second in the one-meter, and claimed the top two honors in the three-meter as well with scores of 262.575 and 249.98, respectively.

On the men's side, Ben Kaiser, John Passaro and Greg Dierksen swept first, second and third in the 1,000 freestyle. Kaiser finished in 10:21.78, while Passaro and Dierksen touched the wall in 10:33.58 and 10:35.18, respectively.

Griffin Moodie and Harrison Kobb seized first and third in the 200 breaststroke. Moodie finished in 2:16.73, while Kobb recorded a time of 2:28.96.

Dierksen also claimed victory in the 500 free in 5:04.51, while Passaro was the fourth-place finisher with a time of 5:09.36.

For the second consecutive meet, Brian Lawler took top honors in the one-meter and three-meter diving with a scores of 286.88 and 323.08.

The Terriers take to the pool again on Saturday, Nov. 11 vs. UMass at 1 p.m. The meet will take place at BU's Competition Pool in the Fitness and Recreation Center.
