
Men???s Basketball Announces Complete 2006-07 Schedule

BOSTON – The Boston University men’s basketball team has announced its 2006-07 schedule. Highlights of the schedule include an appearance at the Holiday Festival at Madison Square Garden, and two games that will be played at BU’s Agganis Arena when Atlantic-10 opponents George Washington and UMass come to town on Nov. 10 and Dec. 6, respectively.
BU will open the 2006-07 season when it welcomes George Washington to Agganis Arena on Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m., and then four days later travel cross-town to face Harvard at 7 p.m. The Terriers will host Rider on Saturday, Nov. 18, before hitting the road for three consecutive road games at Northeastern (Nov. 21), Manhattan (Nov. 25) and St. Joseph’s (Nov. 27).
The Terriers will spend most of December on the road, while their lone home game will be played at Agganis Arena on Dec. 6 versus UMass. Following the UMass game, the team will take a two-week break before traveling to Rhode Island on Dec. 22. The next weekend BU will compete in the Madison Square Garden Holiday Festival in New York. The Terriers will face St. John’s on Dec. 28 and either Hofstra or St. Joseph’s the next day.
At the start of 2007, BU will complete its non-conference schedule with Holy Cross on Jan. 3 at Case Gym. The Terriers will open their conference slate at Hartford on Jan. 6 and then host Maine on Jan. 9. BU will face Binghamton, New Hampshire, Stony Brook and UMBC before taking on defending America East champion Albany at “The Roof” in Case Gym on Jan. 24. Three of the last five games will be on the road. BU will close out its regular season schedule at Albany on Sunday, Feb. 25.
Boston University will play host to the America East Championship from March 2-March 4. The tournament returns to BU after spending two years in Binghamton. The first round, quarterfinals and semifinals will be played at BU’s Agganis Arena. The title game will be played at the highest remaining seed’s home court and appear on ESPN2.
