
Men's Soccer Sweeps Weekly America East Awards

Cambridge, Mass. - Boston University's junior midfielder Neil Hlavaty (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) was tabbed the America East Men's Soccer Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal over UMBC on Saturday. Teammate Aaron O'Neal (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) garnered Rookie of the Week honors for the week ending October 28.
This is Hlavaty's second conference Player of the Week nod of the season and O'Neal's second AE Rookie of the Week honor in three weeks.
Hlavaty scored the game-winning goal in the Terriers' 2-1 win over conference-leading UMBC on Saturday. Hlavaty, who has 12 points on three goals and six assists this season, scored off a free kick 11:30 into the second half. The win helped Boston University leap over the Retrievers in the conference standings with two games to play in the regular season.
O'Neal scored the game-tying goal in the Terriers' 1-1 double-overtime deadlock with Hartford on Wednesday. He also had an assist in his team's 2-1 victory over UMBC on Saturday. O'Neal leads BU in point (16) and goals (8).
Next up, the Terriers host UNH on Wednesday, Oct. 31 on Nickerson Field.
