CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Boston University sophomore guard Corey Lowe (Newton, Mass.) turned his first career double-double in BU's 79-72 win over Harvard on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at Case Gym. Lowe scored 23 points and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds in the victory.
After thrice being named the league's Rookie of the Week last season, this is his first Player of the Week recognition.
The sophomore went 8-for-18 from the floor (.444), including 6-of-10 from the 3-point line (.600) on the way to his second-straight 20-plus point game last week. Lowe also added three assists and a block as well. He hit two threes early to initiate a BU run that gave the Terriers the lead in the first half against the Crimson. Lowe made two more threes in the second half to help BU extend its lead to 10 - enough to withstand a late Harvard rally when the Crimson threatened with 1:34 to go.
Lowe and teammate Carlos Strong are both currently on 20-plus point game streaks, but prior to them the last Terrier to produce back-to-back 20+ point games was Kevin Gardner in January 2006.
The Terriers return to action Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. when BU takes on its second consecutive Ivy opponent, Yale, in the John J. Lee Amphitheater in New Haven, Conn.
