
Hlavaty Named NSCAA All-Northeast Region Second Team

BOSTON - Boston University men's soccer player Neil Hlavaty (Lombard, Ill.) earned a spot on the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA) All-Northeast Region Second Team, the NSCAA announced on Wednesday. Hlavaty, the America East Midfielder of the Year, was the only league player to earn second-team honors.
The junior was the team-leader in assists, tallying six for the season, and scored three goals on the year to tie for second on the team in points (12). Hlavaty directed every set piece BU employed in 2007 and scored two of his three goals on direct kicks and assisted on two corner-kick goals.
Boston University finished 9-7-4 overall and received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they fell in the final seconds of the first round to UMass, 2-1.
The NSCAA All-Northeast Region Team consists of athletes from America East, the Ivy League and nine of the 16 Big East institutions. First-team honorees are eligible for the All-America squad.
