Outdoor Track and Field Shows Well at UConn Invitational

In the 100-meter dash, freshman Whitney Ford placed fifth with a time of 12.60 seconds, crossing the finish line just in front of sophomore Alexis Beaudet, who took sixth with a time of 12.63. Freshman Laura Ricker also competed in the event, earning a ninth-place finish with a time of 12.94.
In the 200 meters, another freshman led the Terriers, as Ebony Cotterell finished sixth with a time of 24.99 seconds. Senior Melanie Piccolo helped BU to another top-ten finish, placing ninth with a time of 26.12, while sophomore Alyssa Fanucci just missed the top-ten mark, earning 11th with a dash of 26.67.
Sophomore Rebecca Marshburn led the way in the hurdles, taking fourth place in the 100 meters with a time of 14.66 seconds. Freshman Casey Jordan joined Marshburn in the short hurdles, placing ninth with a time of 15.16. In the 400-meter hurdles, Marshburn placed third with a time of 1:03.06, while
The Terriers took home another top finish in the 4x100-meter relay, where Beaudet, Ford and Cotterell, along with junior Camille Hazelwood finished third, racing to a time of 47.77 seconds.
In the field events, Ford struck again, placing third in the triple jump with a distance of 12.11 meters. Hazelwood placed just behind in fifth place, leaping to a distance of 11.58. In a similar event, the long jump, Fanucci took home seventh place with a distance of 5.14 meters.
In the pole vault, freshman Fiona Romeri reached a height of 3.36 meters to earn fourth place. Fellow freshman Stephanie Mach finished the day for the Terriers in the discus throw, placing fifth with a distance of 34.38 meters.
