
Brittain, Canada Finish 10th At FIBA U19 World Championships

BOSTON - Sophomore forward Scott Brittain and the Canadian Junior National Team finished 10th overall at the 2007 FIBA 19-and-Under World Championships after an 86-75 defeat at the hands of Lithuania on July 21 in Novi Sad, Serbia.
Brittain tallied 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds in 32 minutes for Team Canada on Saturday. In eight games, the Ontario native averaged 6.4 points and 6.1 rebounds. He blocked a team-best seven shots and made eight steals. Brittain also went 11-for-14 (78.6) from the free throw line.
Lithuania took an early 21-16 lead after the first quarter. Canada stayed even with the Lithuanians and went into the locker room down, 45-40, at the break. Canada picked it up offensively in the third quarter, but Lithuania rallied to out-score the Canadians 24-15 in the last frame for the final margin.
