BOSTON - Sophomore Corie Halasz broke a scoreless deadlock in the 72nd of the America East championship game on Saturday afternoon to earn GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week honors. The Boston University women's soccer team went on to claim a 2-1 triumph over Stony Brook and secure its sixth conference title in nine seasons.
Halasz, who was named to the all-tournament team during a post-game ceremony, took a pass from Farrell McClernon at 71:24, driving her shot home for her third goal of the season. This season, the Milford, Conn., native has amassed nine points on four goals and one assist. Her eventual game-winner on Oct. 23 at UMBC clinched the regular-season title outright for the Terriers.
