BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for maintaining a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, as it earned an NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2008-09 academic year.
To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible, however, the Terriers surpassed that requirement with an overall 3.26 team GPA. The women's soccer squad has traditionally been strong not only on the field, but also in the classroom and in 2009 senior Emily Pallotta was named to the prestigious ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Third Team with a 3.75 GPA.
