Tiya Gallegos Named Student-Athlete of the Week

Junior Tiya Gallegos has been named this week's GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week following a two-goal week that helped the women's soccer team claim the America East regular-season title outright and earn a No. 1 seed in the AE Women's Soccer Championships.
Gallegos scored on Thursday night against Albany off a header pass from classmate Jessica Luscinski. Gallegos collected it and then unleashed a strike to the far left side from just inside 25 yards. Three days later, graduate student Lisa Kevorkian chipped a pass over a Maine defender that put Gallegos into the box with just one defender closing in on her. Before the Maine back could reach her she buried her seventh goal of the season.
Gallegos and the Terriers will return to action on Sunday (Oct. 31) when they host either New Hampshire or Albany in the semifinals of the AE Women's Soccer Championships.
