BOSTON - For the first time since 2006, the Boston University women's soccer team has entered Soccer America's top-25 poll, coming in at No. 22.
The Terriers, who will be vying for their fourth-straight America East championship on Saturday, have won 12 straight games - all via shutout. Their shutout streak ranks fourth all-time in the NCAA as it is tied with the 1987 North Carolina squad and the 1984 North Carolina State team.
In 2010, BU has taken on five nationally-ranked opponents, including No. 1 Stanford, which it was edged 2-1 by on Aug. 22. It has also faced No. 5 Virginia, No. 14 Boston College, No. 17 South Carolina, and then-No. 22 William & Mary.
In 2006, BU stayed in the polls for nearly two months, reaching as high as No. 10 in the NSCAA polls.
