Mosser, Edwards Garner Wins at George Davis Invitational

LOWELL, Mass. - Senior Sarah Mosser and freshman Blake Edwards garnered three wins, as the Boston University track & field teams competed at UMass Lowell's George Davis Invitational on Saturday.
Mosser won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.93 and finished first in the 5,000-meter run (17:51.18). Edwards collected the long jump title with a 6.98m leap.
The women's squad captured nine additional top-five finishes. Sophomore Amanda Howard placed third in the 400m dash (58.99) and fifth in the 200m dash (25.96), while freshman Carolyn Maynard placed second in the 400m with a time of 58.60.
Junior Madeline Steiner ran second in the 5,000-meter run (18:15.74), sophomore Marita Stressenger placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:08.27) and classmate Julia Mirochnick finished fourth in the 100m hurdles (15.59). BU's 4x100m relay team finished second (49.44).
In throws, freshman Chelsea Curry was the second collegian in the shot put (12.89m), and classmate Sarah Dillard placed fifth in the discus (32.25m).
On the men's side, eight Terriers secured top-five finishes, including Edwards' long jump win and his fifth-place finish in the triple jump (13.62m).
In the 5,000m run, senior James Weider placed third with a time of 15:14.87, while sophomore Terence Galasso finished fifth (15:21.86). Freshman Stephen Vitale secured a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles (54.72), and sophomore Adam Weaver placed fifth in the pole vault (J3.95m).
BU secured two top-three finishes in relays, including the 4x100m squad's second-place finish (43.63). The 4x400m relay team placed third (3:27.65).
The Terriers will return to action on Saturday (April 16) when they compete at the Brown Invitational.
