
Latty Competes in Day One of NCAA East Preliminary Round

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Junior Tewado Latty, who competed in the 400m dash, was the lone member of the Boston University men's track & field team to compete at the NCAA East Preliminary Round at Indiana University's Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex on Thursday. The Kingston, Jamaica, native, however, was unable to finish the event.
On the women's side, junior Katie Matthews qualified for the NCAA championships with a fifth-place finish in the 10,000m semifinal round (33.50.86). Classmate Shelby Walton ran in the 100m dash but did not advance.
Five Terriers, including senior Whitney Ford (triple jump) and sophomore Allison Barwise (high jump), will continue preliminary-round competition Friday (May 27). On the track, sophomore Nikko Brady will compete in the 100m hurdles, and Walton and sophomore R.J. Page will participate in the the women's and men's 200m first round, respectively.
