BOSTON – Previously earning All-America Third Team honors, Boston University women’s soccer senior Jessica Morrow has been named a First Team Scholar All-American as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) last week.
The first-time Scholar All-American selection is the only player from the America East to receive the honor this season. Morrow co-captained the Terriers to a 12-6-1 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play, as BU captured its sixth straight America East regular season title.
The Andover, Mass., native was named the 2012 America East Defender of the Year after a standout senior season in which she anchored BU’s defense that allowed just four goals in eight conference games to lead the America East with a 0.49 goals-against average.
In addition to being BU’s leader on defense, Morrow tied for the team lead with five assists on the season, which also ranked fourth in the conference. A member of the America East All-Academic Team, Morrow holds a 3.79 GPA as a business administration major.
Morrow will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon to be held in Indianapolis on Saturday, Jan. 19, in conjunction with the 2013 NSCAA Convention.
