BOSTON – Junior Taylor Krebs has been named to the Capital One Academic District 1 Women’s Soccer First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday afternoon.
To be nominated for the distinction, a student-athlete must excel on the field as a starter or important reserve, and in the classroom by maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.30. With her inclusion on the first team, Krebs is now eligible for national Academic All-America honors.
Krebs maintains a 3.76 GPA as a biology major with a specialization in cell biology, molecular biology and genetics in BU’s College of Arts and Sciences. She was a member of the 2012 America East All-Academic Team and was selected to the 2012 and 2013 America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll for owning at least a 3.5 GPA.
The 2011 America East Rookie of the Year has missed just two games since arriving on campus in the fall of 2011 and has established herself as mainstay at forward in the Terriers’ lineup. This season, she has recorded two goals and a pair of assists and most recently scored a golden goal in BU’s 1-0 overtime victory at American on Oct. 27.
For her career, Krebs has totaled 10 goals and nine assists for 29 points and has accounted for eight game-winning tallies.
Krebs and the Terriers own a 12-3-3 overall record and a 7-1-0 mark in Patriot League play. The Terriers, who have already secured the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament, will conclude the regular season on Saturday (Nov. 2), when BU hosts Bucknell at Nickerson Field.
