After leading the Boston University women’s soccer team to the Patriot League Championship with a pair of shutouts, senior goalkeeper Andrea Green has been named GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
The Nashua, N.H., native did not need to make a save in the 110 minutes of Friday’s semifinal game against Colgate, but she stopped a decisive penalty kick in the shootout for BU to advance to its first Patriot League Championship. In Sunday’s final, Green made a pair of saves for her 11th clean sheet of the season, as the Terriers claimed their first Patriot League title with a 1-0 win at Navy.
Green, an All-Patriot League Second Team honoree was named the conference tournament’s Most Valuable Player. The senior currently ranks first in all of Division I with a 0.264 goals against average.
