CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Junior Taylor Krebs of the Boston University women’s soccer team was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Krebs earned a spot on the 11-member team that was voted on by the Patriot League’s 10 sports information directors for her performance both on and off the field. The junior boasts a 3.76 GPA as a biology major with a specialization in cell biology, molecular biology and genetics in BU’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Last week, Krebs was named to the Capital One Academic District 1 Women’s Soccer First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). With her inclusion on the first team, Krebs became eligible for national Academic All-America honors.
The Dove Canyon, Calif., native has started 17 games at forward this season. She has recorded two goals and a pair of assists this fall and most recently scored a golden goal in BU’s 1-0 overtime victory at American on Oct. 27.
The 2011 America East Rookie of the Year was a member of the 2012 America East All-Academic Team and was selected to the 2012 and 2013 America East commissioner’s Honor Roll for owning at least a 3.5 GPA.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key reserve.
Krebs and the Terriers finished the regular season with a 13-3-3 overall record and an 8-1-0 mark in Patriot League play to clinch a share of the regular-season title. BU earned the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament and a bye to the semifinals, where they will face Colgate on Friday (Nov. 8) in Annapolis, Md. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
